Enshrouded 1.0 Will Launch October 15 With a New Biome and Story Finale
The update brings 9 new spell types, Sparkworks creation tools, and voiced lore in English, German, and Mandarin Chinese.

Enshrouded will launch version 1.0 on October 15, 2026, opening the rest of Embervale, adding a major northern region, and bringing the current story to a close. Keen Games has released the launch trailer ahead of the release and outlined the update in its Steam announcement. Keen Games had already confirmed that Early Access saves would carry into 1.0 and that cross-platform play would not be available at launch in its 1.0 launch FAQ.
Cinder’s Cradle opens the northern edge of Embervale
The new biome, Cinder’s Cradle, brings two very different regions to explore. A lava-scarred wasteland sits beneath floating islands raised by the Ancients, with Shroud tendrils stretching between them. The area also adds 12 Shroud Roots, while newly accessible outskirts in other biomes contribute 6 more.
Two additional Hollow Halls will open in the Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin. Main-story quests will also take players back to structures in earlier regions, including places that were previously inaccessible. The journey through the new areas brings Embervale’s current story to its conclusion, though the Shroud and the Fell remain threats to the world.
New progression brings more threats and mage options
The player level cap will rise to 50, and fully upgraded equipment will reach level 55. A new crafting tier adds gear, tools, food, arrows, spells, and base-building items, while a new survivor focused on Ancient knowledge and recipes joins the player’s settlement.
Cinder’s Cradle introduces a new faction with 14 enemy types. Along with new additions to existing factions, the update brings 37 new enemy types and variants. Mages get 9 new spell types, including crowd-control, area-damage, summon, and utility options. All spells will have eternal versions, and players can summon skeletons to fight alongside them. Wands also gain heavy attacks and new aerial and evasive skills, while ranged combat receives more aiming settings.
Sparkworks lets players build interactive adventures
The new Sparkworks logic system lets players connect interactive objects and define how they respond. That opens the door to more than switches: players can build traps, puzzles, enemy encounters, parkour challenges, and arenas in their own worlds. A visual graph editor gives creators a way to link inputs, outputs, and behavior rules.
Exploration will get an audio upgrade, too. Lore notes, letters, books, and other texts will be voiced in English, German, and Mandarin Chinese, with playback controls that let players queue entries into a playlist. Main crafting survivors and major quest-giver survivors will also receive voice acting in those languages.
Visual changes and quality-of-life updates
A new brick-rendering method will show more detail in distant terrain and voxel buildings, including player-built structures. Biomes will also have distinct lighting, atmosphere, and moisture settings. Keen Games says the update improves performance while reducing memory use, with changes to lighting and dynamic global illumination, and adds HDR support for compatible displays.
Several changes target the early game and everyday building. New chests and revised roads and camps aim to make early exploration more rewarding and easier to follow, while crafting recipes have been adjusted to cut down on resource grinding. Builders will get a free-flying build mode, and storage chests can be upgraded without emptying them first.
Players continuing an existing save should note one important change: the first time they load it in version 1.0, the skill tree will reset and they will need to spend their points again.
