A free PS5 demo for Elta: Defy All Gods became available October 1, 2026. It covers the opening of the action-platformer, where players recover the dragon god Victus worships, fight corrupted enemies, and explore Lerna. The demo is available through the PlayStation Store. The full game launches February 2, 2027.
Afterburner Studios calls the blend a “brawlervania” in its PlayStation Blog post, pairing hand-to-hand martial arts and magic with non-linear exploration across three winding sci-fi worlds. Victus has three fighting stances, each with its own skill tree, and can unleash powerful magical attacks after building up energy. The movement toolkit includes a double jump, dash, wall run, and grapple. Elta also provides abilities for combat and reaching places that would otherwise be out of reach.
Lerna gives the demo’s exploration a wintry setting, with hidden secrets among ancient ruins and industrial remains. Players will need to switch between managing enemies and finding their way through the environment, a combination that puts both the brawling and the platforming at the center of the experience.
The studio cites Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, God of War, Darksiders, and Jak and Daxter among its game inspirations. Dragon Ball Z, the Ip Man films, and Shaw Brothers martial arts movies also informed its approach to Victus’ fighting style. On PS5, Afterburner says DualSense haptics add physical feedback to punches and platform landings.
Afterburner says its team includes three co-founders and a dozen core members, and that Focus Entertainment supported the project with design, production, and QA experience. Players who preorder can also get the Vanguard Armor cosmetic for Victus. Does Elta’s mix of martial arts combat and winding exploration sound like your kind of action-platformer?
