HEROIC Replaces doto With Snappi After 2 Tournament Wins

Snappi replaces Joonas "doto" Forss and will make his HEROIC coaching debut at Stake Pulse Beat III in Stockholm from October 12-17.

HEROIC has replaced head coach Joonas “doto” Forss with Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer after doto’s short stint delivered two tournament wins. Snappi returns to the organization to begin his coaching career with the Counter-Strike 2 team, while doto moves to the bench ahead of Stake Pulse Beat III.

Forss, 30, took over from Tobias “TOBIZ” Theo in July. It was his first time coaching a tier-one team after earlier roles with ENCE Prospects and HEROIC Academy. During his time with the main roster, HEROIC won Stake Ranked Episode 3 and Stake Pulse Beat II, while also completing a qualifying campaign for IEM Beijing.

HEROIC CEO Joachim Harg praised doto’s work with both the academy and main roster, saying the coach helped the team win two trophies and put it in an excellent position to qualify for the PGL Singapore Major. Harg described the decision to bench doto as difficult, but said HEROIC had to choose the direction it believed was best for the project long term.

Doto said he was disappointed with the decision, proud of what the team achieved, and interested in continuing his coaching career. He is open to discussing new opportunities.

Snappi, 36, returns to HEROIC after playing for the organization for more than two years across two stints between 2016 and 2020. His appointment marks the end of a nearly two-decade playing career that spanned three games. He stepped down from Ninjas in Pyjamas’ roster at the end of August.

At the time of the announcement, HEROIC ranked 17th in the world, while its projected chance of qualifying for the Singapore Major was 77.4%. Snappi’s first appearance behind the team will come at Stake Pulse Beat III, scheduled for October 12-17 in Stockholm. Astralis, MIBR, and Envy are among the other teams attending the $80,000 LAN.

HEROIC’s Roster

  • Christoffer “Chr1zN” Storgaard

Doto is listed separately as the benched coach.
