Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles has received its biggest update yet on Xbox, bringing the console version in line with the PC development version. The Colossal update and both new DLCs are available now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, as solo developer Tomas Sala detailed in an Xbox Wire announcement.
New tools for building and sailing
The update adds upgradable surveyors, including the Behemoth, a massive craft armed with guns and cannons. Builders can also shape settlements with curved walls, with no restrictions on their type, length, or angle. Those options offer more control over the outline and height of a fortress.
Players can now select and sail any ship on a trade route they own. Taking a ship into a fight comes with a risk, though. If it sinks, its captain is removed. The update also improves the water shader and waves.
More active wars and greener settlements
Combat has been overhauled, with enemy forces able to attack settlements or rush back to defend their own. Patrol ships can join a defense or attack, while fortresses may appear to block trade routes. Escort formations also give players more control, letting ships focus on the target nearest the cursor or choose their own targets in a looser formation. Sala says the update includes further balancing changes to make conflicts more involved.
Arbology towers let players bring trees back to settlements in a world scarred by the War of the Tree. The trees appear to be watched over by Remnant freebooter forces.

Two DLCs add houses and flying units
Medieval Houses adds six timber-clad house designs for players to use in their settlements. The Verne Bannerless DLC brings three flying units to the fleet: the Bannerless Corsair warbird, the Verne Missile ship, and the Piranha Fast airship. The Verne and Piranha are described as especially hostile forces across the Ursee.
