World of Warcraft: Forever Beta Scan Counts 375,806 Characters So Far
Horde characters make up 51.6% of the tally, while the scan's organizer says its level-30 data is still incomplete.
An in-game scan has recorded 375,806 World of Warcraft: Forever characters at levels 1 through 20 since the beta opened. The count is still growing, and the scan’s organizer says the project has not finished collecting data.
Characters at level 20 account for 76,861 entries, while the combined group at levels 15 through 19 totals 120,644. The organizer notes that scanning a character again updates its recorded level, so these figures can change as characters progress. The scan is being done in-game by the organizer and several volunteers.
The tally puts Horde at 51.6%, or 193,960 characters, and Alliance at 48.4%, or 181,846. Its breakdown lists Undead Paladin as the most-played race and class combination across both factions at 5.4%. The graphic also lists 10 races, 9 classes, 56 combinations, and 16 combinations marked as new in Forever.

The organizer says a “naughty name” filter has scanned about 10,000 offensive names. The full character population is unknown, with the organizer guessing it could be well over 1 million. That is an estimate, not a confirmed total. Hunter figures also need caution, since the organizer suspects bots may be skewing the numbers based on character locations and how often they are seen.
Level-30 data is not complete yet, and the organizer plans to focus more heavily on max-level characters in later scans. More figures are available at classicplus.io. The player count adds a population view to earlier beta reports of new Durotar quests and flight paths.
