Mario Kart Tour Went Offline After 7 Years and $268.5 Million in Estimated Revenue

The mobile racer stopped accepting server logins at 22:59 PT on September 29, and AppMagic estimates put its lifetime downloads above 276 million.

Mario Kart Tour is no longer playable. Nintendo’s mobile spin-off shut down at 22:59 PT on September 29, ending a seven-year run that began with its September 2019 launch.

AppMagic estimates cited by Mobilegamer.biz put the game’s lifetime revenue for Nintendo at about $268.5 million and its total downloads above 276 million. Monthly revenue was around $5 million to $6 million for most of 2020 and 2021, then fell to roughly $650,000 by the time Nintendo announced the closure in July 2026.

The free-to-play racer earned money through microtransactions, including a gacha pipe for unlocking characters that was removed in 2022. At shutdown, it had 267 playable characters, counting alternate outfits, along with 340 karts, 238 gliders and 546 courses.

The game’s final MKT Report looked back at tour images from across its run and covered all 93 tours. The official account also thanked players for supporting Mario Kart Tour over its seven years.
