The Airbus BelugaXL Is Now Available in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 for $19.99

The iniBuilds Airbus BelugaXL is now available for $19.99 in the Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) Marketplace, bringing one of aviation’s strangest-looking cargo aircraft into the simulator. Microsoft’s official announcement confirms the release.

Built by Airbus to move oversized aircraft components between its manufacturing sites, the BelugaXL carries wings, fuselage sections, and tail units that would not fit inside a conventional freighter. Airbus has produced six of the aircraft, which also supports non-Airbus cargo work such as satellite transport.

The aircraft is based on the Airbus A330 freighter and has a cargo volume of 78,000 cubic feet. Its bulbous fuselage can carry two A350 XWB wings, while the upward-opening nose door and lowered cockpit section provide room for loading large components.

What the iniBuilds BelugaXL includes

For virtual pilots, the Marketplace aircraft focuses on cargo operations as much as flight. Its Electronic Flight Bag handles configuration, fuel, payload, and oversized cargo selection, while the front cargo door and animated loader show the selected freight being loaded and unloaded.

A freighter built around oversized loads

The BelugaXL measures 207 feet long, stands 62 feet tall, and has a wingspan of 197 feet, 10 inches. Two wing-mounted Rolls-Royce Trent 700 turbofans provide up to 71,000 pounds of thrust each.

With its maximum payload of 111,333 pounds, the aircraft has a range of 2,532 miles and a service ceiling of 35,000 feet. Its top speed is 458 miles per hour, giving players a large and highly specialized option for routes between major airports in the MSFS 2020 world.
