Fortnitemares 2026 will begin in Fortnite on Thursday, October 1, bringing the annual Halloween event back to the island with quests, free cosmetics, spooky decorations, and a long list of teased or rumored collaborations.

The event is scheduled to start at the weekly reset, 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT. Past Fortnitemares events have generally lasted three to four weeks, so the 2026 edition could run until around October 29. Epic Games has not announced a firm end date.

Epic’s official Fortnite account later posted “IT’S ME! See you October 1” while tagging @fnaf_scottgames, directly teasing a Five Nights at Freddy’s connection for the event.

The post confirms the timing and FNAF connection, but not what players will receive. Epic has not revealed whether the crossover will include an outfit, an Item Shop release, an in-game appearance, or other content. A separate Rocket League leak also connected FNAF to the event.

Other widely discussed possibilities include Obsession, Chucky, Freddy Krueger, The Exorcist, and Pennywise. A separate report attributed more than a dozen planned collaborations to the event, but the status of many names remains uncertain.
