Sony Interactive Entertainment is working with Valve to restore the UK Steam listings for several of its PC games after Helldivers 2, Horizon Forbidden West, and other Sony-published titles stopped appearing for purchase on Wednesday, September 16.
Storefront access is affected for new purchases rather than existing ownership. Players who already own one of the affected games can still launch it from their Steam libraries, while new buyers in the UK are currently unable to purchase the titles through Steam.
Sony described the situation as an issue affecting the availability of select games. “We are aware of an issue affecting the availability of select titles on Steam in the UK. We are working with Valve to address the issue. We apologize for the inconvenience,” a Sony Interactive Entertainment spokesperson said. The company has not explained what caused the listings to disappear or provided a restoration timetable.
Valve’s Steamworks documentation says publishers must contact Valve and provide context when they stop selling a game on Steam. That process does not establish what happened here, but Sony’s statement points to a storefront problem involving both companies rather than a confirmed permanent removal from PC.
The UK-only disappearance also created fresh confusion around Sony’s PC strategy. The company has recently said it will stop bringing single-player releases to PC while continuing to support PC launches for live-service games such as Helldivers 2, making the sudden unavailability of an already released live-service title especially conspicuous.
Helldivers 2 also joined the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for Extra and Premium members in August, giving eligible PS5 players another way to access the shooter. That console subscription availability is separate from the affected UK Steam listing, which Sony is now working to restore.
