The First Descendant Penalized 1,009 Users in Its Sept. 4-10 Abuse Sweep

Uncooperative play accounted for 951 separate matchmaking penalties, while 19 permanent bans involved unauthorized programs and five involved Open Store payment-process exploitation.

The First Descendant penalized 1,009 users during an abuse review covering Sept. 4 through Sept. 10, 2026, PDT. The total included 951 separate matchmaking penalties for uncooperative play, 32 more for unusual gameplay activity, 19 permanent bans for unauthorized programs, five permanent bans tied to Open Store payment-process exploitation, and two seven-day trading restrictions for abnormal transactions.

Nexon detailed the results in a Steam notice. The crackdown covered Sept. 4 through Sept. 10, and the notice said the actions were based on player reports and monitoring. Players who encounter suspicious behavior can submit reports through the in-game reporting feature.

How The First Descendant’s 1,009 penalties were divided

Uncooperative play made up nearly all of the review, with 951 users receiving separate matchmaking penalties under the game’s operational policy. Another 32 users received the same type of penalty after unusual gameplay activity was detected.

Unauthorized programs led to 19 permanent game bans. Nexon also permanently banned five users for gaining unfair benefits through the Open Store payment process. Two more users received seven-day trading restrictions after abnormal transaction records were detected.

The total was 44 lower than the 1,053 actions recorded during the Aug. 28 through Sept. 3 review, which was covered in the previous 1,053-user abuse review.

Players who want to challenge a penalty connected to Open Store payment-process exploitation can contact the official website through Customer Service > 1:1 Support. Disputes involving chargebacks should instead be directed to the platform store used for the payment.
