War Thunder’s September Decal Event Is Underway With 10 New Tasks
The event runs from September 10 at 11:00 GMT through October 9 at 09:00 GMT, with every task requiring a Rank III or higher vehicle.
War Thunder‘s September Monthly Decals event is underway, giving players 10 new markings to earn before October 9. Every task can be completed with Rank III or higher vehicles, with requirements ranging from ground battles and aircraft victories to damage dealt by Soviet Bluewater Vessels.
The decals are available from September 10 at 11:00 GMT through October 9 at 09:00 GMT. The event follows August’s decal hunt, while Gaijin Entertainment has provided the new requirements and historical background in its September Steam announcement.
Five tasks focus on ground vehicles
- “Cuddles” Inscription, USA: Play 20 battles using American Ground Vehicles with at least 60% Battle Activity. The marking belonged to an M4A2 from Company C of the 1st Marine Amphibious Corps Tank Battalion and was used during Operation Galvanic on Betio Island.
- “Lahav” Inscription, Israel: Finish in positions 1-5 five times using Israeli Ground Vehicles. Lahav means Blade, and the blocky inscription with a sword was painted on a Merkava Mk.2 during training exercises.
- PzBtl 304 Emblem, Germany: Earn 15,000 score using German Ground Vehicles. Panzerbataillon 304 operated Leopard 1A3 tanks during the Cold War before moving to Leopard 2 vehicles and disbanding in 2004.
- Telemark Bataljon Emblem, Norway: Play 20 battles using Swedish Ground Vehicles with at least 60% Battle Activity. The vehicle recognition marking features a Norse longship and was used on the turret cheeks of Norwegian Leopard 2A4 tanks.
- 1er Escadron, 12e RC Emblem, France: Defeat 40 players using French Light Tanks. Its dolphin design connects the regiment to the earlier Régiment du Dauphin Cavalerie and its motto, “Je me ris du danger.”
Aircraft and naval challenges round out the collection
- 305th TFS Emblem “Shishi”, Japan: Finish in positions 1-3 three times using Japanese Aircraft. The guardian lion nose art appeared on F-15Js from Japan’s 305th Tactical Fighter Squadron during the 2013 TAC Meet and includes the kanji 強, meaning strength.
- 150° Gruppo Emblem “Gigi Tre Osei”, Italy: Defeat 50 players using Italian Aircraft. The three birds and desert scene honor Luigi Caneppele, an Italian glider pilot who competed at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
- No. 208 Squadron Emblem “Sky Pirates”, UK: Defeat 20 players with unguided bombs while flying British Aircraft. The Jolly Roger marking was used by Blackburn Buccaneer S.2Bs during Operation Granby, when No. 208 Squadron carried out strike missions and laser-designation work for Tornado aircraft.
- 3rd TFW Emblem, China: Win 10 battles using Chinese Aircraft. The emblem traces back to the 3rd Pursuit Group formed in 1936, with arrows representing climbing aircraft and a wreath linked to prosperity and good fortune.
- Artillery-Torpedo Ships Emblem, USSR: Score 20,000 damage using Soviet Bluewater Vessels. The crossed cannon and torpedo were the standard symbol for Soviet artillery-torpedo ships, including destroyers such as Spokoynyy and Bravyy.
Where to track the September decals
The markings appear in the Monthly Decals tab at the bottom of the customization menu. After the event ends, each decal will move to its corresponding category.
To check the exact requirements and monitor progress, open Player Profile > Decals > Monthly Decals, select a reward, and click Track progress. That option lets you follow each task from the hangar while working through the month-long event.
