Pokémon GO Mega Links appear to be able to pass the displayed 600-item limit, at least in one weekly challenge result. A Trainer reported receiving 200 Mega Links without the reward turning into Stardust or being refused, leaving the inventory at 1,270/600.

What the 1,270 total shows
The inventory readout shows that the game accepted the reward beyond the displayed 600 mark. It does not establish whether Mega Links can always be stored above that number, whether the extra Links can be spent normally, or whether the result is tied to this particular weekly challenge payout.
For now, the result is best treated as one observed discovery rather than confirmation of a broader change to Pokémon GO’s storage rules. If other Trainers reproduce it, weekly rewards may not need to be claimed only after spending down their Mega Links. Until then, checking the total after claiming a reward is wiser than assuming every account will behave the same way.
