For Honor Ranked Dominion and Duel will launch September 10, but Steam Deck support will end
Season 0 will start everyone at Bronze 5, with Reputation 5 required to enter and 5 matches needed to unlock ranked rewards.
For Honor will launch Ranked Dominion and Ranked Duel on September 10, 2026, giving players a new competitive ladder to climb. The same date will also end the game’s availability on Steam Deck, as Ubisoft says it cannot provide the anti-cheat protection needed for the Linux platform.
Ubisoft’s Ranked FAQ covers everything from the new rank structure and reward requirements to map rotation, party restrictions, matchmaking, and penalties for leaving a match. Ranked will begin with Season 0, which Ubisoft plans to use as a starting point for gathering feedback and adjusting the competitive system over time.
The developer said it will continue looking into ways to improve anti-cheat protection on Linux. For Honor could return to Steam Deck in the future, but there is no confirmed date for that possibility.
For Honor’s 7 ranked tiers
Ranked progression includes 7 tiers, ordered from lowest to highest as follows.
- Bronze
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
- Diamond
- Master
- Grandmaster
Bronze through Diamond each contain 5 divisions. The ladder runs from Bronze 5 through Bronze 1, then continues through the remaining tiers in the same order. Master and Grandmaster do not use divisions. Instead, both ranks rely on point-based leaderboards, with the top 100 players in Master receiving the Grandmaster rank.
There will be no placement matches during Season 0. Every player will begin at Bronze 5 and work upward from there by earning Rank Points, or RP.
Ranked rewards and eligibility
Players must complete 5 Ranked matches before they become eligible for rewards. The reward track includes a distinct ornament for every rank in both Ranked Dominion and Ranked Duel. Each competitive season will also feature an armor set and weapon tied to a different hero, starting with the Warden in Season 0.
- Gold awards an ornament and an armor set.
- Platinum awards an ornament.
- Diamond awards an ornament and a weapon.
- Master awards an ornament.
- Grandmaster awards an ornament.
The armor set and weapon will change with the season. Rewards will be handed out in the title update that follows the end of each competitive season. Older lootable rewards from Ranked Duels will be retired and replaced by the new reward pool, although Ubisoft may bring them back later.
Ranked Dominion’s maps and gameplay rules
Ranked Dominion will use a fixed 10-map rotation. The initial pool consists of Beachhead, Canyon, Cathedral, Citadel Gate, Harbor, High Fort, Overwatch, Sanctuary Bridge, Temple Garden, and Qiang Pass.
Several rules will separate Ranked matches from standard play. Parry flash indicators will be disabled, Gear Perks will not apply, and teams will use a single-pick system. That means each team can select only one of each hero, so duplicate heroes on the same side will not be allowed.
Removing the parry flash puts more weight on prediction, animation reading, and recognizing an opponent’s habits instead of reacting to the indicator alone. Crossplay will be enabled for Ranked play.
Cross-region play will work when players invite friends from another region and queue together. Solo players will not enter cross-region matchmaking at launch, though Ubisoft is considering that option for the future.
Party limits and the climb to Grandmaster
Players need to reach Reputation 5 before they can queue for Ranked matchmaking. Ubisoft said the requirement is meant to support a better competitive environment by keeping brand-new accounts out of the mode.
Ranked Dominion parties can contain no more than 2 players, and party members must be within 10 divisions of one another. Ranked seasons will last 3 months, matching the length of regular seasons. The competitive season will finish 24 hours before the regular season ends.
Wins award RP, which moves players through divisions and ranks. A win streak bonus becomes available after 3 consecutive wins and grants extra RP. Teammates can also receive bonus RP when they win alongside the player who is on the streak.
Demotion protection applies only when a player reaches 0 RP in the bottom division of a rank. It does not protect players in any other division. Rank decay is limited to Grandmaster, where points begin to decay if no match has been played during the previous week.
Leaving a Ranked match
A player who disconnects from Ranked Dominion must rejoin that same match. While it remains active, they cannot queue for another game mode. In Ranked Duel, the match ends when a player leaves, and the departing player receives a loss.
Anyone who leaves and does not return will receive a matchmaking penalty and lose rank points. With Season 0 beginning on September 10, players have a little time to reach Reputation 5 and get ready for the climb from Bronze 5.
