Modern Warfare 4 Beta Perks: What Each Slot Does and When It Opens
Six perks are available immediately, while the rest unlock at player levels 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 30, 31, 32, 36, 40, and 48.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4‘s beta gives players 18 perks across three slots, with six options ready from the start and the remaining abilities tied to level progression. Here is what every perk does and when it becomes available.
The first beta weekend is scheduled to run from August 21–25, 2026, giving players a limited window to work through the level gates. The beta setup guide covers the wider schedule, while the breakdown below focuses on building a class around the perks themselves.

Perk 1 includes health recovery, weapon access, detection warnings, stealth, and Killstreak support. Quick Fix is available immediately, while the later unlocks begin at Level 16.

Perk 3 abilities and unlock levels
Perk 3 handles movement, ammunition, tactical resistance, enemy detection, and equipment awareness. Blood Rush and Scavenger are available at the beginning of the beta, making them immediate choices for players who want mobility or extra ammunition.
| Perk | Ability | Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Blood Rush | Increases Tactical Sprint duration and crouch speed, while kills restore stamina. | Already unlocked |
| Scavenger | Enemies leave a retrievable ammo cache when they die. Launcher ammo is excluded. | Already unlocked |
| Lethal Reach | Lets you throw equipment farther with a visible trajectory and automatically uses the dedicated melee attack when you perform a weapon butt. | Level 8 |
| Battle Hardened | Reduces the effects of enemy tacticals. | Level 28 |
| Cold-Blooded | Hides you from AI Targeting Systems, Thermal Optics, Recon Drones, Spotter Scopes, Snapshot Grenades, and High Alert. | Level 30 |
| Combat Grid | Reveals enemy Equipment, Field Upgrades, Killstreaks, and Vehicles through walls while also highlighting friendly players. | Level 40 |
When the beta perks unlock
Every loadout can use one immediately available perk from each slot before any leveling is required. The first new perk arrives at Level 8 with Lethal Reach, while Kill Chain is the last listed unlock at Level 48.
Quick Fix supports kills and objective play, Hardline reduces the cost of Killstreaks, and Blood Rush rewards players who keep moving and scoring eliminations. Other unlocks focus on staying hidden, reading enemy movement, resisting tactical equipment, or keeping the minimap and battlefield information on your side.
