Tides of Annihilation Gets a 40-Minute Gameplay Look Before Its Gamescom Demo

The 40-minute gameplay look highlights spectral knights, colossal encounters across a warped London, and PC support for Path Tracing and DLSS 4.

Tides of Annihilation now has a 40-minute gameplay video available, giving the upcoming action-adventure a longer look ahead of its first European public demo. Eclipse Glow Games will bring that demo to Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, from August 26 through 30, 2026.

Forty minutes with Tides of Annihilation

The extended footage offers more than a quick teaser, giving viewers time to see the game in motion and get a clearer sense of its presentation and overall direction. It also highlights the fast-paced third-person combat, spectral knights, and large-scale battles spread across a ruined version of London. The footage arrives at a useful moment, with the Gamescom demo only weeks away.

First revealed during a PlayStation livestream in early 2025, Tides of Annihilation is built around Arthurian legend and an invasion from an apocalyptic Outworld. Its story takes place in a shattered version of modern London, where familiar landmarks become combat zones and vertical routes lead players around massive enemies and hordes of foes. Eclipse Glow Games has cited Stellar Blade and Devil May Cry 5 as inspirations for the combat and overall direction.

How the spectral knight system works

Combat revolves around a spectral knight system that lets players build elaborate combos around several combat partners. The demo includes Bedivere, Gaharis, Palamedes, Kay, and Gawain. Four knights can accompany Gwendolyn into battle: two serve as primary fighters, while two provide secondary abilities.

Primary knights have more than a dozen attack animations each, while secondary knights bring two special moves apiece. Their abilities can add effects such as perfect parries, time manipulation, and wind magic, giving players several ways to build an attack sequence instead of relying on a single weapon or combo route.

A shattered London filled with colossal enemies

Colossal Knights roam the city, forcing Gwendolyn to climb and fight across their towering forms. The full game is planned to include more than 30 different bosses, with some drawing from the legends of the Knights of the Round Table.

Alongside the battles, the story follows Gwendolyn as she searches for answers about her origin. Her journey is framed around revenge, reunion, and redemption.

PC features and release timing

The PC version will support Path Tracing and NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame Gen. Eclipse Glow Games has not announced a release date, so the Gamescom demo remains one of the clearest public looks at the project for now.

Gamescom will give attendees a chance to move from watching the project to playing it. The public and press will have access to the demo during the event, as detailed in the Gamescom demo announcement.
