Cinder City’s First North American Playtest Will Run August 14-16
The three-day pre-alpha test will be open to North American players aged 16 and older during evening hours.

NC’s Cinder City will hold its first North American playtest from Friday, August 14, through Sunday, August 16. The pre-alpha test will offer an early look at the tactical shooter following its reveal at Gamescom 2025.
When the Cinder City playtest starts
The playtest will begin at 5:00 p.m. PST on Friday, August 14, and run until 9:00 p.m. PST. The session will return on Saturday and Sunday, with both days running until 11:00 p.m. PST.
Participation will be limited to people who are at least 16 years old and located in North America. Registration is available through the Cinder City playtest signup page.
Requirements and restrictions for the Cinder City test
Cinder City currently lists 32GB of RAM as its minimum PC requirement. The Steam page previously listed 64GB as a recommended requirement before that figure was corrected as an error, while the 32GB minimum remained. The Steam Hardware and Software Survey indicates that most respondents have less than 32GB of RAM installed.
Players can also sign up through the official Steam announcement, but registration does not guarantee an invitation. The test will operate under a strict NDA that prohibits participants from recording gameplay, taking screenshots, streaming, publishing posts, or uploading other material from the test.
What to expect from Cinder City
Cinder City takes place in a near-future, post-apocalyptic version of Seoul. NC is combining horror and science fiction with traditional first-person shooter mechanics, setting the game apart from a standard military shooter.
NC has also shared a developer preview ahead of the test, giving players an early look at the world and the kind of action the pre-alpha build will offer.
North American players who meet the age requirement can register now for the three-day test. Share your thoughts on Cinder City in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, and Instagram.
