The Division Resurgence brings the series’ Specialization system to mobile. These function as classes, with each one offering a distinct group of skills and two Focuses that direct the build toward a particular role.
There are currently five Specializations in The Division Resurgence. Vanguard is a straightforward starting point, while the other options cover explosives, frontline defense, healing, corrosion, and drone support.
How Specializations and Focuses work
A Specialization determines the skills available to your Agent and helps define how you contribute in combat. Each Specialization also has two Focuses, which act like Talent Trees and prioritize different abilities.
All Specializations in The Division Resurgence
Vanguard
Vanguard is built for Agents who want to stay close to the action while helping their team control the battlefield. Its tools improve cover, reveal enemies, and support assault rifle or SMG combat. The Tactical Link Signature Ability also provides assisted aiming during its data bursts.
Skills:
- Tactical Link (Signature Ability): An ISAC upgrade that sends bursts of targeting information to the SHD AR lens, providing assisted aiming against hostiles.
- Commando Smart Cover (Commando Focus): Improves nearby cover. Allies using it receive Damage Reduction and have a chance to restore bullets fired at enemies.
- Recon Smart Cover (Recon Focus): Improves nearby cover and gives allies Weapon Damage that scales with your Engineering while they remain behind it.
- Scanning Pulse: Scans the area for hostiles, highlights them through the Agent’s AR lens, and increases the damage they take.
Specialization Focuses:
- Commando: Builds Relentless stacks to increase Weapon Damage and Critical Damage.
- Recon: Applies Exposed to enemies, increasing the damage they take.
Demolitionist
Demolitionist turns the battlefield into a fireworks display. This explosives-focused Specialization uses a grenade launcher, artillery, and a seeker mine to flush enemies from cover and deal Skill Damage.
Skills:
- M32A1 Grenade Launcher (Signature Ability): A multi-shot weapon that fires several grenades in a short period.
- Artillery Turret: Launches mortar rounds at enemy positions.
- Explosive Seeker Mine: Tracks the closest hostile after deployment and explodes to drive enemies out of cover.
- Cluster Grenade (HE Munitions Focus): Splits into smaller grenades on impact and deals Skill Damage.
Specialization Focuses:
- HE Munitions: Builds Charge stacks to increase Skill Damage and applies Bleed for damage over time.
- Field Grenadier: Builds Fiery stacks to increase Weapon Damage and applies Vulnerable, increasing the Weapon Damage enemies take.
Bulwark
Bulwark is the frontline option for players who want to protect teammates while pushing into enemy positions. Its Phalanx Shield provides mobility and protection, while the Signature Ability pairs the shield with an RCS-12 automatic shotgun.
Skills:
- Breach Combo (Signature Ability): Uses the expanded Phalanx Shield for full protection while firing the RCS-12 at nearby hostiles.
- Phalanx Shield: Provides upper-body protection in its folded state while allowing the Agent to fire any weapon. Its expanded mode offers stronger protection.
- Shield Bash: Swings the shield forward and stuns an enemy on impact.
- Shockwave Spike Mk.3: Dashes into enemy lines and creates a powerful area-wide shockwave after slamming into the ground.
Specialization Focuses:
- Breacher: Charges with the Phalanx Shield, applying Intimidated to nearby enemies. The effect slows them and increases the damage they take.
- Juggernaut: Improves survivability while using the Phalanx Shield and applies multiple effects through the Shockwave Spike.
Field Medic
Field Medic is not limited to healing. Its Tactical Pharma Focus uses mines and drones to deal damage and apply Corrosion, while Combat Medicine changes the kit into a dedicated support setup with healing drones and damage reduction for allies.
Skills for Tactical Pharma:
- Oxidizing Swarm (Signature Ability): An upgraded Oxidizing Hive that stores more micro-drones filled with a stronger corrosive substance.
- Oxidizing Hive: Sends corrosive micro-drones at enemies, dealing damage and applying Corrosion when they connect.
- Chemical Trap: Splits into corrosive sub-mines after being thrown, creating a minefield that damages enemies and applies Corrosion when triggered.
Skills for Combat Medicine:
- Healing Swarm (Signature Ability): Releases healing micro-drones that target allies in range, restoring large amounts of health or reviving downed teammates.
- Healing Hive: Sends healing micro-drones toward injured allies.
- Support Station: Releases medical gas that heals injured allies within its area.
Specialization Focuses:
- Tactical Pharma: Applies Corrosion and deals damage over time.
- Combat Medicine: Provides healing and damage reduction to allies.
Tech Operator
Tech Operator gives players two drone-based approaches. Offensive Operations sends Striker Drones after marked targets, while Aegis Operations uses defensive drones to heal teammates and provide protection.
Skills for Offensive Operations:
- Drone Overload (Signature Ability): Sends waves from the SHD Brick to deployed Striker Drones, temporarily increasing their damage. If no Striker Drone is active, the ability deploys one.
- Striker Drone: Automatically detects and fires at nearby hostiles.
- Drone Lock: Directs deployed Striker Drones to focus on one target. It also deploys a Striker Drone if none is currently active.
Skills for Aegis Operations:
- Defender Drone (Signature Ability): Protects allies within its field and can follow the Agent or move to a selected location.
- Mender Drone: Continuously heals a selected ally. If no ally is selected, it heals the Agent.
- First-Aid Firefly: Sends a Healing Firefly to a selected teammate. Without a selected target, it heals the Agent.
Specialization Focuses:
- Offensive Operations: Deploys offensive drones to attack enemies.
- Aegis Operations: Deploys defensive drones to support allies.
