PAYDAY 2’s V3 Engine Beta Is Planned to Continue Through August 13

The extended test will give the team more time to address player-reported issues before the engine upgrade leaves beta.

PAYDAY 2’s V3 engine open beta will remain active longer than planned as the team investigates additional issues reported by players. An official Steam announcement says the game is now aiming to leave beta on August 13, 2026.

The extension is meant to give the developers more time to track down the remaining problems affecting the upgraded engine. Players who encounter issues during the test are being asked to report them in the PAYDAY 2 open-beta bug reporting forum.

What Happens When the Beta Ends?

Players already participating in the open beta will be able to continue playing immediately once the beta period ends. Anyone who has not joined the test will need to download an update before accessing the V3 engine version.

The August 13 date is the current target, so the team could still adjust the schedule if more testing is needed. For now, heisters have extra time to test the engine upgrade and report anything that goes wrong.
