Two roguelites are free on the Epic Games Store this week

Sol Cesto brings luck-based tile choices to an eerie underworld, while OXTO delivers fast top-down gunplay across a shifting mansion.

The Epic Games Store is offering Sol Cesto and OXTO for free from Thursday, July 30, through August 6. Both games focus on roguelite runs, but they take very different paths to get there.

The two titles are available until 8:00 a.m. PT / 11:00 a.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. BST / 5:00 p.m. CEST on August 6. Once claimed, both games remain in your library, so this is a good week to add some smaller-scale action to your PC backlog.

Sol Cesto turns luck into a weapon

Goblinz Publishing’s Sol Cesto sends players into an unusual underworld while they search for the missing sun. Its gameplay uses a tabletop-inspired structure. At each turn, you choose one of four rows, then land on a random tile within that row.

Those tiles can lead to treasure, strawberries, health boosts, or battles against different enemies. The game also gives you metal and stone teeth that can alter the rules in your favor. You can use them to place curses or adjust the odds, giving each run a little more room for careful decision-making.

Sol Cesto pairs its eerie setting with hand-drawn visuals and a soundtrack that fits its strange trip below the surface. The result is a roguelite built around accepting uncertainty and finding ways to bend it.

OXTO brings guns to a shifting mansion

OXTO takes a much more direct approach. Super Rare Originals’ top-down shooter uses black-and-white pixel art, rapid gunfights, abilities, and boss battles. The story places a nameless character inside a mansion searching for a loved one.

The mansion contains more than 150 rooms, and their arrangement changes between runs. That layout keeps each attempt moving through a different series of encounters, while the ability system gives you ways to tailor your character as the action unfolds.

Its fast combat and heavy focus on shooting make OXTO a sharp contrast to Sol Cesto’s tile-based decisions. If one free game asks you to trust the odds, the other asks you to react quickly and keep firing.

How to claim both games

You can add both titles through the Epic Games Store’s free games page. The offer runs through August 6 at the listed times, and each game stays yours after you claim it.
