Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos will return on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC in Q4 2026, with Argonaut Games handling the remaster as both developer and publisher. The sequel follows last year’s return of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos on current platforms.
Argonaut has kept the original game’s core intact while updating its visuals and controls. Croc 2 is also a larger adventure than its predecessor, with more varied stages and challenges as Croc searches for his long-lost parents.
During his journey, Croc travels through four villages, rescues captured Gobbos, and confronts the resurrected Baron Dante. The remaster will also restore the sequel’s full subtitle, Kingdom of the Gobbos.
Video Games Chronicle reports that the remaster is planned for Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC in addition to the previously announced PS5 and PS4 versions. No more specific release date has been provided beyond the Q4 2026 window.
Here is the announcement trailer for the upcoming remaster:
A new museum mode joins the remaster
Alongside quality-of-life changes and the visual update, Croc 2 will include Croc2pedia. The museum-style feature will contain developer interviews, cut content, design documents, and other behind-the-scenes material.
Argonaut Games co-CEO Mike Arkin said the studio had planned to remaster Croc 2 if the first project performed well. He also explained that the sequel was built on a different engine, which created separate technical challenges, although the team’s earlier remaster work helped validate its approach.
Argonaut founder Jez San OBE added that Croc 2 had always been the intended follow-up after fans responded positively to the first remaster. The studio now expects both longtime players and newcomers to experience the sequel in HD on PlayStation consoles.
