505 Games Brings WUCHANG’s Original Creator Back for the Series’ Next Game
Xia Siyuan's Indolphinity will develop the new project, but 505 Games has not shared its title, release date, or connection to the original game.

505 Games announced a new project in the WUCHANG series on July 29, 2026, with original creator Xia Siyuan returning through his new studio, Indolphinity. The Chengdu-based team, formally known as Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology, will handle development. 505 Games will fund the project and publish it worldwide.
The announcement comes after Leenzee, the studio behind WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, closed earlier this year. Xia founded Indolphinity after leaving Leenzee, giving the original creator a direct role in the series’ next chapter.
505 Games described the project as being in its preparation phase. The publisher has not revealed a title, release date, platforms, or gameplay details. It also has not confirmed whether the game will be a direct sequel, a prequel, or a separate story within the WUCHANG universe.
“WUCHANG’s story is far from over,” 505 Games wrote in its July 29 announcement.

What happened to the original WUCHANG team?
WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers launched on July 24, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The action RPG later surpassed five million players across those platforms. Digital Bros, 505 Games’ parent company, acquired the WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers intellectual property in April 2026 for approximately $4.6 million, according to IGN’s report on the deal.
Leenzee’s closure followed Xia’s departure and a reported disagreement over whether the remaining staff would return to outsourcing work. KR Asia’s report on the studio’s fate said the team rejected the proposed move, after which Leenzee was disbanded.
The original game also faced criticism after Patch 1.5 altered parts of its story and combat encounters. Several historically important bosses and NPCs could no longer be killed, while some Chapter 4 enemies became non-hostile. The update also changed dialogue, leading to complaints that the revisions weakened the game’s plot, characters, and tone.
With Indolphinity now leading development, the series is moving forward under its original creator while 505 Games retains control of the property and global publishing.
