Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Sequel Is Officially in Development

Indolphinity will lead development while 505 Games funds and publishes the next chapter worldwide.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers will continue with a new sequel following a deal involving the game’s intellectual property rights holder, developer Indolphinity, and publisher 505 Games.

The original soulslike launched in July 2025 and reached more than 130,000 concurrent players on Steam at launch. Across all platforms, it has surpassed five million players worldwide and holds a 74 aggregate score on Metacritic.

Indolphinity Will Lead the Sequel’s Development

505 Games and Indolphinity have entered a development and publishing agreement for the next chapter in the Wuchang series. Indolphinity, a studio founded by the original game’s director and producer, Xia Siyuan, will handle the sequel’s creative development, while 505 Games will provide funding and publish the game globally.

The companies also said that the series’ future creative work will remain rooted in China through cooperation between Xia Siyuan and 505 Games. Digital Bros Group, which holds the rights, will establish a dedicated subsidiary in Chengdu to support the studio and publishing work.

Xia has said that Indolphinity’s Chinese development team considers its cultural heritage central to its work. He also said the studio will listen to player feedback while pursuing a more polished and complete experience for the next chapter.

The announcement followed major changes involving the original development team. The team was reportedly dissolved in April after the game’s director was fired. Later that month, Digital Bros Group announced the sale of the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers intellectual property for more than $4.5 million.

Reports identified the original team as Leenzee and said that many of its members were laid off after declining to move to outsourced projects and support work. Xia was also reportedly dismissed from the company before returning to lead the sequel through Indolphinity, according to Push Square.

No release window, platforms, or gameplay details have been announced for the sequel.

The sequel gives the series a path forward after the original game’s strong launch, but the next chapter is still early in development. Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
