Guild Wars 2 will let players track down Jimothy the raccoon in August
ArenaNet's in-game version of the viral Seattle raccoon will be available to unlock as a Jimothy mini starting August 11.

Guild Wars 2 is bringing Jimothy, the unusually shaped Seattle raccoon that became an online sensation, to Tyria on August 11. Players will be able to track him down and unlock a Jimothy mini of their own.
Jimothy’s connection to ArenaNet is a personal one. Kiana Hall, who first shared the raccoon with a wider audience, is married to an ArenaNet developer. Hall’s original video showed Jimothy moving through her Seattle backyard with the round, waddling gait that quickly made him recognizable online.
ArenaNet explained that the in-game appearance grew from that connection. In a LinkedIn announcement, the studio said bringing Jimothy into Tyria was a fitting way to honor a story that reached so many people.
The real raccoon has already crossed into other parts of gaming and tabletop culture, including an official Dungeons & Dragons stat block. Guild Wars 2 will give players a safer way to spend time with the internet’s favorite round wildlife celebrity.
ArenaNet also reminded fans to keep their distance from wild animals. The studio said Jimothy’s in-game version is the safer option for anyone hoping to get close to him.
Jimothy’s arrival gives Guild Wars 2 players a very unusual collectible to chase when the event begins on August 11. Share your thoughts on the raccoon mini in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, and Instagram.
