LEMORION has provided a fuller explanation of the Meccha Chameleon Discord breach, confirming that the game itself was not infected or altered. In a July 25 Steam announcement, the developer said the incident affected one administrator account and the community server attached to it.
The trouble began while the team was investigating and fixing an issue involving a malicious MOD map. A system engineer’s PC was infected with malware, after which the attacker bypassed the engineer’s Discord 2FA and gained control of the server’s permissions. The hacker then removed every official staff member by banning them from the server.
The Game Files Were Not Exposed
According to LEMORION, the infected computer was a spare machine used for testing. The system was not connected in a way that allowed access to or edits of Meccha Chameleon‘s source files. The developer said its logs reconfirmed that limitation, and the affected PC has since been wiped and reformatted.
LEMORION also warned that the person controlling the Discord server may post fake statements and announcements. Players should avoid links, instructions, and replacement servers promoted through the compromised community until the developer confirms that a channel is genuine.
The update does not provide a recovery schedule for the Discord server. For now, the safest approach is to wait for announcements from LEMORION through verified channels rather than trust messages posted on the affected server.
