Tomb Raider Catalyst, the next major Lara Croft adventure for PS5, will now launch in 2028 instead of its previously announced 2027 window. That gives fans another year to wait for the new chapter in the Tomb Raider series.
The delay also means both of the recently announced Tomb Raider projects will arrive later than first planned. Tomb Raider: Catalyst was announced at The Game Awards alongside Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, which was originally targeting 2026. Legacy of Atlantis will now arrive on February 12, 2027.
Amazon Games boss Jeffrey Gattis revealed Catalyst’s revised timing during an interview with The Game Business. Discussing the two projects, Gattis said, “Atlantis comes February 12 next year, and then we’ll follow on in 2028 with the next one.”
What to expect from Tomb Raider Catalyst
Catalyst is being developed with Unreal Engine 5 and will take Lara to India. The story follows her attempt to uncover a secret buried beneath the region while rival treasure hunters pursue the same power.
The game was presented as a fresh chapter for the franchise, with Crystal Dynamics continuing to lead development and Amazon Games publishing. Specific details about the new release date, physical editions, and pricing have not been provided.
