STALCRAFT: X Coliseum Guide: Secure the Battery and Hold the Installation

Teams score only by completing captures, while the Battery carrier must reach the Installation without weapons or abilities.

STALCRAFT: X‘s Coliseum mode revolves around one objective: secure the Battery, bring it to the Installation, and finish the research process before the opposing team can stop it. A recent Steam announcement breaks down how the match flow works and what teams need to do to score.

How the Coliseum objective works

The mode follows three stages, and each one creates a different problem for the team trying to complete the capture.

1. Activate the Rift

The Battery does not appear immediately. Your team must first activate the Rift, then wait for the Battery to spawn. This opening moment gives both sides a chance to prepare for the fight around the objective.

2. Deliver the Battery

Once someone picks up the Battery, that player cannot shoot or use abilities. Their only job is to carry it safely to the Installation.

That restriction makes the delivery phase a team effort. The carrier should not be left to handle the route alone. Other players need to create space, watch for attackers, and keep pressure away from the player carrying the objective.

3. Complete the research

Reaching the Installation is not enough to earn points. The team must hold the zone for a set amount of time while the research process finishes.

Opponents can interrupt that process and take control of the Installation. If they complete the capture instead, they receive the points. A team that reaches the zone first can still lose the exchange if it fails to protect the area until the research is complete.

How to win more Coliseum rounds

  • Protect the Battery carrier. Since the carrier cannot fight or use abilities, the rest of the team must handle threats along the delivery route.
  • Keep the objective moving. The Battery has to reach the Installation before scoring is even possible, so losing control during delivery can erase the team’s progress.
  • Prepare for the hold. Reaching the Installation starts the research phase. Players should be ready to defend the zone rather than treating delivery as the end of the round.
  • Interrupt enemy captures. Holding the area does not award points on its own. Stopping the other team before its research finishes is just as important as starting your own capture.
  • Do not chase kills at the expense of the objective. Coliseum rewards completed captures, not passive control or eliminations without progress.

Captures are the only way to score

There is no passive point gain for simply standing inside or controlling the Installation. Points are awarded only when a capture is completed, which keeps the match focused on the Battery and the research timer.

That also means a late interruption can completely change the score. An enemy team can seize the Installation during the research process, finish the capture, and take the points for itself.

Coliseum matches will demand clear roles: one player carries, while teammates create a safe path and defend the Installation. Share your Coliseum tactics in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, and Instagram.
