Hosting GTA Online’s New Heist Can Cost More Than Two GTA 6 Copies

Players starting from scratch need $16.2 million in-game to host the Kortz Center Heist, or $179.96 in Shark Cards without discounts.

GTA Online received its first new Heist mission in six years on July 14, 2026, but players who want to host the Kortz Center Heist will need a very large bankroll first. Starting with nothing, the minimum setup costs $16.2 million in GTA money.

The cheapest required mansion, the Tonga Estate, costs $11.5 million. Hosts also need an art studio priced at $4.7 million before they can launch the mission. The Kortz Center Heist supports teams of four, although players can tackle it alone. The activity is now available in GTA Online on Xbox Series X|S.

Shark Cards push the cost near $180

For someone starting fresh without GTA+ benefits, discounts, or existing cash, reaching $16.2 million means purchasing four Shark Cards: the $10 million card for $99.99, the $4.25 million card for $49.99, the $1.5 million card for $19.99, and the $600,000 card for $9.99. Together, those purchases total $179.96.

That price is more than two copies of GTA 6 at its listed $80 base-game price. A player could spend $160 on two copies of Rockstar’s upcoming game and still have $19.96 left over from the money needed to prepare one GTA Online character to host the new Heist.

There is an important way around that cost. Players can join a friend’s Kortz Center Heist without buying the mansion or art studio themselves, as long as someone else in the group has already handled those requirements. That option will probably be the practical choice for most crews, while solo players and anyone without a well-funded friend may face the full price of entry.

The comparison is especially striking because the required Shark Cards are being measured against the price of a full upcoming release, not a small optional add-on. GTA Online players can still access the new mission through another host, but running the operation themselves requires a serious investment in virtual property.
