Am I the only one seeing the pattern that Mixer is taking? There are many updates by other media outlets stating their current stance, which puts Mixer the hungry side. This means that Mixer is most probably looking to recruit even more streamers from Twitch and YouTube and make Mixer their primary Livestreaming platform. This is done simply by offering very beneficial contracts for both parties.
But that is not the only pattern in this scenario. Microsoft’s Mixer does not want to overwhelm their repository with streamers coming from the same video game or genre. Instead, it’s looking to enlarge their viewership by acquiring a diversified set of content creators.
Microsoft has first acquired Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, which is a very well known Fortnite streamer. Fortnite belongs to the Battle Royale Genre, but it doesn’t resemble the game choice of their second recruit, which was Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek. Their game choice moderately differs, even though both of them could sometimes stray from their main title.
Now, shortly after Shroud’s migration, Mixer continued their sensation and decided to recruit KingGothallion, which is mostly known by the MMORPG shooter titles, such as Destiny, The Division. This was, in general, Microsoft’s third persona that streams shooting video games.
Now, if we carefully follow this pattern, not a single acquisition has overlapped. Each one of the streamers has become distinctively impactful on the Mixer platform. If we follow the axis, we could potentially sniff the possibility of other Twitch personalities to leave Twitch for Mixer.
Among those, I’d put Asmongold on the very top of the list, striving a minimum of 20,000 to 30,000 viewers per session on Twitch. Not only that but his main game, as we all know, is World of Warcraft. A game that weighs quite a lot in the Twitch repository and has the power to bring a vast amount of people. It is also an MMORPG game that hasn’t noticed big success on Mixer, ever. Even on Twitch, Asmongold is the only character of existence that can bring a substantial amount of viewers daily. Not to mention, whenever there are limited-time events, that is merely countless.
With only those things above, I can probably estimate that Asmongold is on Mixer’s acquiring list. I would be surprised if he wasn’t contacted by Microsoft so far. Bet. Asmongold deserves this type of contract, and whether it is that going to reflect on his decision of staying or leaving Twitch, it remains to be seen.
