Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has a staggered launch, and New Zealand can shave off a day

PS5 and Xbox Series unlock at 12:00 a.m. local time on July 9, while PC players wait for a July 9 rollout at 2:00 p.m. UTC.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced now has a full timing map, and Ubisoft has split the rollout across preload windows, console unlocks, and a New Zealand region swap for players who want to jump in early. The remake lands on July 7, 2026, but the exact moment you can start depends on your platform and where you live.

Ubisoft confirmed the timing on X, where the publisher said the game was a week away and pointed players toward the preload and release details.

Ubisoft had already broken down the remake’s PS5 and PS5 Pro performance in a separate breakdown, but this schedule is the part that matters if you want to know exactly when you can start playing.

Pre-load times

PS5 players can begin pre-loading at 12:00 a.m. local time on July 7, 2026.

Xbox Series preload starts on June 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. UTC, which works out to:

  • 7 AM PDT
  • 8 AM MDT
  • 9 AM CDT
  • 10 AM EDT
  • 11 AM BRT
  • 3 PM BST
  • 4 PM CEST
  • 7:30 PM IST
  • 10 PM CST
  • 11 PM JST
  • 12:00 a.m. AEST on June 23
  • 2:00 a.m. NZST on June 23

PC players on UbiConnect, Steam, Epic, GeForce Now, and Blacknut can preload on July 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. UTC, which is:

  • 7 AM PDT
  • 8 AM MDT
  • 9 AM CDT
  • 10 AM EDT
  • 11 AM BRT
  • 3 PM BST
  • 4 PM CEST
  • 7:30 PM IST
  • 10 PM CST
  • 11 PM JST
  • 12:00 a.m. AEST on July 8
  • 2:00 a.m. NZST on July 8

Console release times

Xbox Series and PS5 players can start playing at 12:00 a.m. local time on July 9, 2026.

PC and cloud release times

PC players on UbiConnect, Steam, Epic, GeForce Now, and Blacknut can begin playing on July 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. UTC, which matches the same regional breakdown listed above.

How the New Zealand trick works

If you live west of New Zealand, you can start playing earlier by changing your region to New Zealand or buying the game from a New Zealand digital store. That route is awkward on PC, straightforward on Xbox, and more involved on PS5.

On Xbox, you only need a digital purchase and a console region change. On PS5, you need a New Zealand PSN account and a purchase through that store.

If you use either method, the early unlock lands on July 8, 2026 at these times:

  • 5 AM PDT
  • 6 AM MDT
  • 7 AM CDT
  • 8 AM EDT
  • 9 AM BRT
  • 1 PM BST
  • 2 PM CEST
  • 5:30 PM IST
  • 8 PM CST
  • 9 PM JST
  • 10 PM AEST
  • 12:00 a.m. NZST on July 9

For players in the Americas and Europe, that means the New Zealand route can move the start time up by a full day, which is the only real trick worth knowing here.
