BioWare’s latest STAR WARS: The Old Republic executive producer letter looked back at the story run that led into Legacy Reborn and then shifted to what comes next. For readers catching up on that finale, the Legacy Reborn finale landed on June 16 and wrapped another major stretch of Legacy of the Sith.
Keith said the team spent the last few months pushing out story updates in quick succession, starting with Game Update 7.8 “Pursuit of Ruin”, followed by 7.8.1 “Master’s Enigma” in March and then 7.9 “Legacy Reborn” in June. He also said those threads now converge on Khar Shian, where the siege of Naga Sadow’s Hidden Fortress plays out.
The focus has now moved to Game Update 8.0. BioWare said it is preparing its first Public Test Server phase for the coming weeks, and that early test will include the first boss from the new Operation plus level 85 access for select classes such as Sentinel, Vanguard, and Sage, along with their Imperial mirrors. The studio expects a months-long PTS cycle so it can gather feedback across the new features before the full update arrives.
Outside the main story path, Nar Shaddaa Nightlife has returned with two new decorations, PvP Season 10 “Honor in Battle” is underway, and Galactic Season 10 “Secrets of the Syndicate” is nearing its late-July finish. BioWare said the season brings back rewards from Seasons 1 and 3, while Galactic Season 11 “Light and Shadow” is next.
