Tekken 8 teases a cartoon turn for its fighters

The official Steam post pairs the tease with a short video and points players toward the series' socials for more details.

Tekken 8 has started teasing a cartoon-style take on its fighters, and the official message is keeping the details very close to the chest for now.

The Steam post says the series’ characters are moving into a cartoon world and tells fans to keep an eye on the game’s socials for more news. It does not spell out what form the tease will take, only that more information is coming later.

Tekken 8

Tekken 8 is a 3D fighting game and the eighth main installment in the Tekken series, notable for being the first entry to debut on home consoles rather than in arcades. Built on Unreal Engine 5, the game introduces the "Heat" system, which rewards aggressive play by granting enhanced moves and chip damage while in an activated state, and replaces the prior "Screw" mechanic with "Tornado" hits. The game features crossplay across PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. Additional modes include Arcade Quest, an online lobby with customizable avatars and tournament play, and a cinematic story mode. It is the final Tekken game involving longtime series director Katsuhiro Harada before his departure from Bandai Namco.
