GTA 6’s $80 preorder pitch lands before Rockstar has shown gameplay
The studio has released two cinematic trailers, but neither has shown the game in motion.

Rockstar is asking for $80 for Grand Theft Auto 6, and it still hasn’t shown a real gameplay trailer.
That is the sticking point. The studio has already put out two trailers, but both have stayed firmly in cinematic territory. The second focused on Jason and Lucia, and the recent flood of 63 images leaned more toward art, promo shots, and photo-mode style frames than actual gameplay.
So the preorder price lands with extra weight. When a game starts at a minimum of $80 and a $100 Ultimate Edition is already in the mix, players are left paying more before they have seen the thing in motion.
Rockstar may not feel any rush to change course, since GTA 6 has enough attention to sell on name alone. Still, a proper gameplay reveal would go a long way toward making that price feel less like a hard sell and more like a real start to the campaign.
