CD Projekt’s storefront jumped the gun on a Witcher 3 expansion
Songs of the Past is being co-developed with Fool's Theory, and CD Projekt says more details will arrive in late summer.
CD Projekt Red’s own storefront spoiled the surprise, but the news is official now. The studio confirmed it is working on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Songs of the Past, a fresh expansion for Geralt’s game.
That confirmation follows earlier chatter about a possible new add-on, including a May 2026 window discussed in rumors about a new The Witcher 3 expansion. In a Steam post, CD Projekt said Songs of the Past is being co-developed with Fool’s Theory, is due in 2027, and will get more details in late summer.
The studio had planned to make the reveal during REDstreams on May 28, 2026, but the announcement appeared early in RED Launcher, where players saw it before the stream. CD Projekt also pointed players to updated system requirements that will take effect with the next update.
