World of Tanks Heat launches with free tanks, but Steam is already rough
Wargaming's Season 0 battle passes are free, with the XM1V first in line, but Steam players are already reporting crashes and bugs.

World of Tanks Heat has arrived on PC, and Wargaming is trying to ease its rough debut with free Season 0 battle passes and launch rewards players can grab without paying extra.
The spin-off takes place in an alternate post-World War II timeline, where more advanced tech pushed tank combat in a stranger direction. Instead of just picking a vehicle, players choose an Agent with its own abilities, then take that setup into 5v5 and 10v10 matches.
The first season’s battle passes are free through the official Season 0 announcement, with a new pass arriving each week. Each pass includes cosmetic rewards and an unlockable tank, starting with the XM1V, and players only need to reach tier three to claim each one.
That goodwill is doing some work, because Steam’s response has been harsh so far. The game’s store page currently shows a Mostly Negative rating, with crashes, bugs, and other technical problems leading the complaints. The game has also been positioned for consoles, including PS5, alongside the PC release.
