Palia Royal Highlands will introduce horses, new housing, and a fresh zone on May 12
Singularity 6 said the Royal Highlands will bring Palia's biggest expansion yet to Xbox, alongside a 10 million player celebration running through May 11.

Palia is heading toward a bigger Xbox chapter on May 12, when the Royal Highlands expansion is scheduled to open up a new Adventure Zone, horses, fresh story content, and more home customization.
Singularity 6 shared the update on Palia’s official site and through a new video, Palia | Xbox – The Royal Highlands Palia Path, which gives a closer look at what players can expect when the expansion arrives.
The Royal Highlands is being positioned as the game’s largest Adventure Zone so far, larger than Bahari Bay. The new area leans into rolling hills and cliffs, and the studio said it was built to change how players move through the world.
Horses will be the headline traversal addition. Players will be able to ride, raise, and breed their own horse through the Ranching skill on their barn, with traits and appearance changing over time. The expansion also adds new fish, creatures, minerals, and gathering materials across the Highlands.
Story-wise, the update introduces Amber Echo, a strange substance that traps anything caught inside it, and Eshelon, heir to the Bahari Dukedom, who has been sent to investigate what is happening in the region.
Housing is getting a noticeable boost too. The Ancient Human Home Line adds a more refined architectural style inspired by the Royal Highlands, along with a third-story upgrade, expanded storage, and new decor sets such as the Aristocrat Set and the Teapot Set.
Clothing dyes are also being expanded, giving players more control over outfit colors for select clothing they have already unlocked.
Before the expansion lands, Palia is also marking a major player milestone. Singularity 6 said the game has passed 10 million players worldwide, and the 10 Million Player Celebration Event is live now through May 11. During that event, players can log in, finish daily quests, and earn event-exclusive decor, plushes, a commemorative nameplate, and up to two free premium Mystery Outfits.
The studio is also offering a limited-time 25% discount on the Starter Pack and Founder’s Pack ahead of the new content drop.
Palia is available as a free-to-play fantasy life sim, and its Xbox release continues to grow with this next round of content. If you have thoughts on the Royal Highlands expansion, share them in the comments. You can also follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, and Instagram.
