Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake may be lined up for April 16

The remake, reportedly known internally as Resynced, is being tied to a reveal on April 16, with prior talk pointing to a mid-April window.

A new report says Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake news is coming soon, with the game’s reveal currently pointed at April 16. The project is reportedly using the name Resynced.

The date comes from ResetEra user BlackBate, who said the announcement was planned for that day. Tom Henderson has also discussed a mid-April window on the Insider Gaming podcast, which lines up with the same timing.

That lines up with the broader picture around Ubisoft’s current Assassin’s Creed pipeline. We recently reported on multiple titles in development in Ubisoft’s multiple Assassin’s Creed projects, and Black Flag Resynced appears to be part of that wider push.

According to internal documentation referenced in the report, if the game does not go public next week, it is scheduled for FY 2027 Q2, which would place it somewhere between June and August. Some sources have indicated July as a potential release date, but we are still exercising caution with the timing.

The same report also says Black Flag Resynced would be one of Ubisoft’s bigger releases in the current financial year, alongside a mainline Ghost Recon game expected later in the fiscal year. Even with that, Ubisoft’s cost-cutting measures could still affect projects across the company, including possible further layoffs across its studios.

For now, the important part is simple. If this timing holds, next week could bring the first proper look at a remake fans have been waiting on for a long time. Tell us what you think in the comments, and join us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.

Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag begins in 1715, when pirates established a lawless republic in the Caribbean and ruled the land and seas. These outlaws paralyzed navies, halted international trade, and plundered vast fortunes. They threatened the power structures that ruled Europe, inspired the imaginations of millions, and left a legacy that still endures.
