Escape from Tarkov’s top Prestige tier is still rare territory

Battlestate Games said fewer than 600 players have reached the game's current max Prestige level, even though more than 40,000 have cleared the first tier.

Escape from Tarkov is still a grind, even for the most committed players. Battlestate Games studio head Nikita Buyanov recently said that only 593 players had reached the game’s current top Prestige tier, a tiny slice of the total player base.

Prestige has been part of Escape from Tarkov since December 2024. The system lets players reset their progress after meeting a long list of requirements, then earn rewards tied to each Prestige level. Those rewards include exclusive items, retained stats, and special customization options for a player’s character and Hideout.

Buyanov’s update showed a steep drop-off after the first tier. He said 24,502 players had reached Prestige 1, 8,946 had reached Prestige 2, and the count continued to fall from there until the sixth and final Prestige level. That ceiling may not stay permanent. Battlestate Games has said it wants to add 10 Prestige levels in the future, but six remains the highest available rank for now.

The numbers also underline how few players have fully pushed through Tarkov’s endgame systems. Earlier this month, Battlestate said more than 33,000 players had finished the base story campaign after the game’s 1.0 launch in November 2025. Against that backdrop, reaching max Prestige looks even more punishing.

Escape from Tarkov has never been a casual ride, and this kind of progression data makes that painfully clear. If you have thoughts on how hard the current Prestige climb really is, share them in the comments and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
