Leaked GTA 4 Dev Kit Dumps Over 100 Early Assets Online
A ZIP of more than 100 files, posted to GTA Forums on March 28, exposed beta models, animations, radio assets, and audio samples that never shipped with the final game.

Files from an early Grand Theft Auto IV development kit were posted publicly on March 28, and the archive contains more than 100 items that shed light on content Rockstar either reworked or left out before launch.
The package was shared by a GTA Forums user named Pingwinek in an 11-year-old thread that remained active as contributors hunted for beta-era material. The forum post points to a ZIP of recovered clusters that includes audio samples, animations, character and vehicle models, and other assets labeled as beta or cut content.
People digging through the files called out Ferry models, additional radio station material, and numerous cut models and animations. The archive mirror is publicly accessible via the Internet Archive, where the recovered ZIP is hosted as a trafficable download. The GTA Forums thread that hosted the initial share is available for inspection, and the Internet Archive mirror of the dev kit can be downloaded directly from the recovered clusters link.
Grand Theft Auto IV launched in 2008, and the leaked dev kit offers a rare window into the game’s early construction and the decisions Rockstar made before release. Modders and historians often use this kind of material to trace how levels, missions, and audio were altered during development. The new files also complement recent community work on the PC version, such as the Path Tracing RTX Remix mod that reworks lighting for GTA IV.
For background on fan-led upgrades to the game’s visuals, see the Console & PC Gaming feature on the GTA IV Path Tracing RTX Remix mod. The archive itself is raw developer data. Anyone planning to download it should take the usual precautions for handling old, unvetted files.
