Diablo 4’s Lord of Hatred expansion hits April 28 with Paladin, Warlock and a new region

Blizzard confirmed the expansion will launch April 28, 2026 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Standard, deluxe and ultimate editions are priced at $39.99, $59.99 and $89.99.

Blizzard announced that Diablo 4’s second expansion, Lord of Hatred, will arrive on April 28, 2026 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

The expansion brings a new story campaign confronting Mephisto, a new explorable region called Skovos, two playable classes and a number of systems changes that will affect character progression and endgame content. The standard edition is priced at $39.99, the deluxe edition at $59.99 and the ultimate edition at $89.99. Purchasing the deluxe or ultimate edition as a pre-order grants instant access to the Paladin class.

What’s included

Lord of Hatred adds Skovos, a zone with coastal areas, forests, volcanoes and sunken islands that contrasts with Diablo 4’s existing regions. Two classes arrive with the expansion: the Paladin, a melee sword-and-shield archetype, and the Warlock, a magic-focused class that summons demonic allies.

The expansion reworks class skill trees across the board and introduces a new War Plan that alters how players access endgame activities. A featured endgame mode called Echoing Hatred tasks players with surviving waves of enemies for progressively better loot.

Level cap increases, loot rebalances and itemization adjustments are part of the package, and Blizzard warned that buildcrafting will change substantially once the expansion is live. One of the changes that I am personally looking forward to is that Blizzard has also said the expansion will raise Diablo 4’s Torment difficulty ceiling to 12.

Separately, Blizzard confirmed Solo Self Found (SSF) is planned for Diablo 4 but will not be available at Lord of Hatred’s launch, instead, the mode is scheduled to arrive at a later date.
