Steam credited the real artists behind its spring sale art and people cheered for it

Steam's social post named Tiffany Diep and animator @thanhuki as the creators of this year's seasonal sale art and Points Shop items.

Steam publicly credited the people who made this year’s spring sale art, and the move drew a warm response online. On March 19, 2026, Steam posted on X that the sale graphics were made by @thetiffopotamus with animations by @thanhuki, and encouraged players to look for related Points Shop items and stickers in their Discovery Queue.

The acknowledgment stood out because of growing debate over AI use in creative work on digital storefronts. Many users celebrated seeing a clearly handcrafted banner rather than something that looked machine-made. One X post praised Steam with the line “Thank you for using real artists and not slop,” and another reshared the praise with “Steam supporting real artists! Based!” The first reaction appears at this X post and the repost is available here.

One of the credited creators, Tiffany Diep, seems more active on Bluesky, her profile is at thetiffopotamus on Bluesky. Diep’s LinkedIn page lists her as responsible for Steam’s 2026 seasonal banners and Points Shop sale assets, which explains the consistent look across the sale artwork and related items.

The reaction from industry figures was also visible. New Blood CEO Dave Oshry posted on X, noting that Steam has long used different artists for its sale art and framed the applause as a symptom of how fatigued people are by AI-driven visuals.

For many players, the small gesture of naming artists was a simple win. In an era where AI-generated imagery and automated pipelines get a lot of attention, a clear credit line made the spring sale’s dragon and stickers feel intentionally hand-drawn.
