7% of US PS5 owners now have a PS Portal

At the end of 2025, 7% of PlayStation 5 owners in the United States also owned a PS Portal handheld streaming device, according to Circana retail tracking data shared by Mat Piscatella on Bluesky. The new figure is an increase from the attach rate reported in October 2025, when just over 5% of PS5 owners had a PS Portal. The rise shows the device has gained ground as an optional PS5 accessory in the US market.

Sony has updated the device since its launch. One notable change allows PS Plus Premium members to stream any PS5 titles in their library to the PS Portal without having the games downloaded on the home console. That update removed a previous limitation that required the source console to store the game locally in some cases.

Mat Piscatella posted the Circana snapshot on Bluesky, noting several 2025 retail facts and saying “PlayStation Portal now has a 7% attach rate to PS5 hardware LTD.
