Neighborhood endeavors now include a way to bypass Mechagon’s introductory questline. The new Moderate Mechanization endeavor lists tasks that require visiting Mechagon, and completing it will let characters jump straight to the island without running the old unlocking questline that has been required since Battle for Azeroth.
The Moderate Mechanization endeavor is part of the neighborhood endeavors system. Neighborhood endeavors are monthly events tied to player housing where a neighborhood works together to finish tasks that unlock decor and other rewards. Most endeavor tasks complete passively for players simply by playing the game.
Tasks for neighborhood endeavors include activities such as completing Mythic+ dungeons, earning honor, finishing world quests, and collecting lumber. Completing these tasks grants House XP and in-game currencies. The endeavor rewards named in the test include House XP, Community Coupons to spend at traders, and Adventurer Dawncrest. The Mechagnome endeavor is one of six neighborhood endeavors that were testable on the beta. The others listed on the beta are Blood Elves, Ethereals, Grummels, Niffen, and Dracthyr. Because the Mechagnome endeavor uses Mechagon as its companion zone, finishing Moderate Mechanization provides immediate access to the island.
Neighborhood endeavors are rolling out with the Midnight pre-patch. Pre-patch timing is January 20 in NA and January 21 in EU. The Midnight expansion and its pre-patch include the player housing changes that host these neighborhood activities. Community discussion picked up when content creators pointed out the Mechagon skip on social media. Neighborhood endeavors will give players another path into Mechagon and new ways to earn housing rewards without forcing them through the island’s original intro questline.
