Ubisoft to cut about 55 jobs across Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft Stockholm

Ubisoft has proposed an organizational restructure that would affect about 55 positions at its Swedish studios Massive Entertainment in Malmö and Ubisoft Stockholm, the company said on January 13, 2026.

When reached for comment Ubisoft told IGN, “Earlier today, we informed all employees in our Swedish studios (Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft Stockholm) about a proposed organizational restructure that may affect approximately 55 roles across Malmö and Stockholm.

Ubisoft said the move comes after its Voluntary Leave Program launched in the fall of 2025 and a completed staffing and appointment process. “This restructure follows the completion of the Voluntary Leave Program launched during the fall of 2025, a finalized long-term roadmap, and a completed staffing and appointment process, which together have provided clearer visibility into the structure and capacity required to support the two studios’ work and sustainably over time,” the company added.

Massive Entertainment is best known for The Division franchise and has also worked on Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Ubisoft Stockholm is working on an unannounced title. Ubisoft said the studios’ long-term direction will not be impacted by the planned reductions.
