Rainbow Six Siege X is back online after the weekend account breaches

Ubisoft turned Rainbow Six Siege X servers back online on December 29, 2025 after a weekend security incident that briefly handed some players huge amounts of in-game currency and unlocked cosmetics. The developer first acknowledged the breach on December 27 and immediately removed public access to the game and the Marketplace.

Ubisoft disabled credit spending and rolled back transactions made since 11:00 AM UTC on December 27, 2025, then ran quality control tests on December 28 before a limited soft launch to a small group of players. Ubisoft says the game is now available to all players, but the Marketplace remains closed while investigators continue working. The studio warned that a portion of players who connected after 10:49 AM UTC on December 27 may temporarily lose access to some purchased items; corrections are planned over the next two weeks. Players who were not active between December 27 and December 29 will see no changes.

Users reported being granted billions in R6 Credits and Renown and seeing many cosmetics unlocked. Some players also posted screenshots and videos showing the currency spikes, while other reports described wide sweeps of bans and unbans and unusual messages appearing in match ban feeds. Ubisoft notes that the game’s ban ticker had been disabled in a prior update and that the mysterious messages were not generated by that system. The company confirmed a separate R6 Shield Guard ban wave took place but said it was unrelated to the incident, and Ubisoft has stated it will not ban players who spent the mistakenly granted credits.
