Respawn Entertainment is already looking forward to future Battle Passes. The First Battle pass coming today with its unique content won’t include any challenges but instead, will only include progress tied to experience. That means the more you play, the more levels you’ll get, without the necessity of doing something else. Even if the rewards will still be unique and according to Battle Pass level, it won’t feel like extra content is there.
However, Respawn Entertainment is already looking forward to upcoming seasons and Battle Passes. They’ve already announced that the next Battle Passes will allow players to tackle down on challenges. Even though at first look, the Apex Legends Battle Pass looked something similar to what Fortnite offers, it completely differentiates from others.
According to Lee Horn, EA’s lead product manager, future Battle Passes are more likely to include quests and challenges, allowing players a stronger grind.
You’ll notice the first version isn’t built around a complex quest system where you need to do a 720 backflip off of Watchtower Artemis and get two Wingman headshots before hitting the ground. While we think there’s really cool design space in quests and challenges for future Battle Passes, we wanted the initial version to allow our players to just play and learn the game.
With that being said, this Battle Pass won’t include any challenges.
He also said the Battle Pass rewards found in Season one are completely bound to its existing period. That means they won’t be available after the end and release of Season 2.
