Battlefield 6 free trial is live, EA published a beginner guide and it’s accessed through Redsec

The Battlefield 6 free trial went live on November 25 and will run until 4 am PT / 7 am ET on December 2, but there’s a wrinkle… you don’t launch it from the Battlefield 6 store page or the main game client. EA is routing trial access through Battlefield Redsec, the always free-to-play battle royale, and during the week you get three playlists, including a casual multiplayer option, across three maps: Siege of Cairo, Eastwood, and Blackwell Fields.

That Steam page for Battlefield 6 doesn’t show a “try me free” button. Instead, players who want to test the waters need to install Battlefield Redsec and jump in from that shortcut. Redsec remains free after the trial ends, so anyone who grabs it during the week will still have that mode afterward.

EA also pushed a short primer for newcomers, breaking down the trial’s modes and offering tips on how to play them without getting lost. The guide goes over things like Escalation and other playlist rules, and shares practical pointers aimed at players who might be encountering BF6’s systems for the first time.

For players who try the week and want to keep their progress, EA confirmed that any unlocks or progression earned during the trial will carry over to the full version if you decide to buy it. Right now the full game is discounted as part of the first-ever Steam Black Friday sale, listed at $59.49 / £51 / €59.49 on Steam.

Console and PC players should note the trial is time-limited; the free access window closes at the same moment for everyone. If the goal is to sample a few matches and see whether BF6’s pacing and classes click, that week gives enough time to form an opinion without spending a penny.
