It was a bit obvious that a title like Battlerite cannot achieve success in the BR genre. Not that the concept is missed or bad, but because mages and spell casters belong to another genre. It is unusual to see them dwell into the BR mode.
Even if the product was behind a paycheck, it will become free-to-play, just like its MOBA version of Battlerite. We’re sure there will remain some promotion packs available so you could get any sort of cosmetics and support the devs, but it won’t be mandatory.
The date when Battlerite goes free to play is on February 19. Stunlock studios have expressed their opinion about the same, claiming that it has been a community request to release the game as free-to-play.
Peter Ilves, Game Director at Stunlock Studios stated:
Upon our community request to release the game as soon as possible, we are pumped to announce that Battlerite Royale’s free-to-play launch now has a confirmed date. Thank you to everyone who has been participating in the beta and giving us your feedback. We are now super excited to deliver the complete experience – a MOBA Royale – free for everyone to play. The game launches together with a massive update including several surprises to look forward to.
With that being said, get ready, because February is your month to experience the fun hidden within Battlerite Royale.
