Fortnite has landed its v38.00 update for version 1.000.200, and yes, Springfield is in the Battle Bus flight path. The patch adds a full Simpsons collaboration to Battle Royale including an 80-player Springfield Island, a Simpsons Battle Pass, the game’s new Sidekick system, weekly animated shorts, account linking rewards, Twitch drops, and a long list of editor and creative changes.
Drop into Springfield for a back-to-basics 80-player match that leans into the cartoon mayhem. The Battle Pass features premium Outfits such as Homer, Marge, Flanders, Blinky Fishstick, and Springfielder Peely. The Battle Pass also introduces Fortnite’s first Sidekick, Peels, available as an exclusive unlock before other Sidekicks appear in the Shop on November 7.
Sidekicks are persistent, customizable companions that follow players across modes including Battle Royale and LEGO Fortnite. Players can set permanent physical traits, rename their Sidekick, and earn cosmetics for them with Sidekick Points earned by hanging out together. Additional Sidekicks coming to the Shop on November 7 include Bonesy, Spike, and Lil’ Raptor.
Fortnite will host original Simpsons animated shorts in the Quests tab each week through November, with the first short, Apocalypse D’Oh, available on November 1. The shorts will also be available on Disney+ in The Simpsons Collection.
Connect Epic and MyDisney accounts through the Apps and Accounts page to claim the free Kang and Kodos Glider if accounts are linked before February 28, 2026 Eastern Time, and expect it in your Locker before November 15. Twitch drops run from November 1 at 4:30 PM ET to November 2 at 11:59 PM ET, where watching 30 minutes of any stream in the Fortnite category unlocks The Siiimpsooooons… Wrap.
We previously covered earlier leaks about a Simpsons mini-season and Springfield map and the new release follows those hints closely, including claims of a full Springfield map landing in Fortnite.
There are two official trailers for the crossover:
