Fireballs are a minor but annoying ARC enemy in Arc Raiders that players will need to locate for early quests such as Fight Fire With Fire, The Right Tool and What Goes Around. They turn up most often inside buildings, so if you keep wandering open fields, you will not have a fun time.
What to look for: Fireballs are little metal orbs that deal fire damage and are slightly larger than the electric Pops. You will see them in tight hallways, small rooms and other interior choke points. They often hide in the sort of corridors players race past while hunting loot, so slow down and check corners.
Where to look first
The easiest places to check on Dam Battlegrounds are Control Tower and Research & Administration, because they are adjacent and have the indoor spaces Fireballs like. Hydroponic Dome Complex is also a smart pick, since it is straightforward to navigate, though it can be busier with other players.
Common Dam Battlegrounds spawn areas:
- Control Tower
- Research & Administration
- Water Treatment
- Dome outposts in Hydroponic Dome Complex
- Testing Annex
Other maps to check: on Spaceport search Flight Control and Control Tower B6, though Spaceport tends to be a higher difficulty map. In Buried City look toward the north end, especially Galleria and Hospital.
How to kill them fast
Fireballs open their shell just before attacking. The simplest tactic is to wait for that split second and shoot them with a high-damage weapon like a Ferro. That will blow them up before they flame you to death.
How to get Fireball Burners
Kill Fireballs and loot them to get Fireball Burners. They show up as an uncommon recyclable material in your inventory. They are not grenades in the traditional sense, though you can throw one to cause a small patch of fire.
Practical uses: the What Goes Around quest requires destroying an ARC enemy with a Burner, so weaken the target with your gun first, then toss a Burner to finish it and complete the objective. You will also need several Burners to upgrade your Refiner to level two, so keep a modest stockpile early on.
If you want a quick refresher on the game’s ongoing content plans, we previously covered ARC Raiders will get flexible monthly updates to buy room for PvPvE experimentation, which explains how the developer plans to iterate on maps and enemy setups.
