EA has announced Battlefield REDSEC, a free-to-play, standalone battle royale set in the Battlefield 6 universe, and it arrives tomorrow, 28 October 2025.
The publisher says REDSEC will be integrated into Battlefield 6 for players who own the base game. Still, it will also be available as a separate download for anyone who wants to jump into the BR experience without buying BF6. That setup could quickly broaden the player base, which matters for a mode that lives or dies on matchmaking and population.
Details remain thin until the full reveal, but the developer has a gameplay launch trailer scheduled to drop tomorrow alongside the mode’s release. We previously reported that RedSec may launch with only Duos and Squads, and that item remains worth watching as the reveal lands.

Expect more specifics once the trailer and launch hit map size, player count, progression, and whether classic Battlefield features like vehicle play will be present will determine how distinct REDSEC feels compared to other BRs. For now it is simple: free-to-play, tied to BF6, and arriving on 28 October 2025.
